7 Ways Your Omaha Real Estate Agent Is Like Your Mom
This Sunday is Mother’s Day! At The Fairfield Team, we love working with moms. As we get closer to the holiday, however, we’re noticing some humorous ways that we are similar to our clients’ moms. (And we feel their pain!)
How Is Your Omaha Real Estate Agent Like Your Mom?
Your real estate agent makes you clean.
Once you have listed your home for sale, your Omaha real estate agent will hound you to make sure you keep it clean! If you aren’t meticulous on your own, you’ll receive reminders about tidying up before showings and open houses, making your bed, picking up dirty laundry, and (yikes!) flushing your toilets.
Your real estate agent will track you down when they don’t hear from you.
If you don’t return their calls, texts, or emails, they will track you down. Hey, it’s just because they’re worried, like any mom would be. So remember to return their calls to avoid a full-blown panic attack!
Your real estate agent can help you learn about savings and budgeting.
Or, more likely, she’ll put you in touch with someone who can counsel you in these areas, if necessary. Your Omaha real estate agent wants to see you in the perfect home, so she or he will always have these resources on hand!
Your real estate agent can be a good listener.
Your Omaha real estate agent wants to hear exactly what you’re looking for in a home, which neighborhood you prefer, and what items are deal-breakers when it comes to buying or selling your home. Your success is their success.
Your real estate agent drives you around and doesn’t ask for gas money.
Moms log so many miles on their cars driving to sports practices, school events, play dates, and more for their kids. Realtors log just as many miles for their clients while they are house hunting. Who else (other than moms and realtors) won’t ask for gas money in return?
Your real estate agent doesn’t pull any punches.
Call it tough love, but really good realtors, just like moms, won’t hesitate to tell you when you’re acting like an idiot. Responsible real estate agents tell you what you need to hear, not necessarily just what you want to hear. If you buy a new car or quit your job days after getting pre-approved for your mortgage, your real estate agent is going to tell you that was a mistake.
Your real estate agent is happy to see you get your dream home, but sad you’re moving on.
Just like your mom, your real estate agent is over-the-moon happy when you find that house of your dreams for you and your family. But she or he is also a little bit sad that it’s time for you to move on.
If you and your family are getting ready to start house-hunting for a new home or are preparing to sell your home, contact the Fairfield Team and we can help you get started or answer any questions about Omaha real estate!
